The Storage Analyzer & Disk Usage application provides users with a comprehensive view of their device's storage and disk usage in a simple and visually appealing manner.

Accessing Device Storage and USB Drives

The application reads the list of files and file-specific data such as name, path, size, last modified date, and file preview from the device storage to generate device statistics. These statistics are then displayed as a report and a file usage diagram in the form of pie charts and sunburst charts.

Accessing Cloud Drives

In addition to accessing local storage, the application allows users to connect their cloud drives such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and Yandex.Disk. When a cloud drive is connected, the application reads a list of files and their file-specific data in order to generate cloud drive statistics. Similar to device storage, these statistics are presented as reports and file usage diagrams.

Accessing Device Installed Applications

The application also provides information on installed applications, including package name, app icon, code size, data size, cache size, and last used date. This allows users to see a sorted list of applications based on size and cache usage. Additionally, the application provides the ability to clean the cache and delete selected apps.

No personal information or user registration is required to use the application.

File Usage Visualization

Folders and files are represented using a sunburst chart that is sorted by their size. The central chart sector corresponds to the current directory, while the remaining sectors represent subfolders and files. Users can click on a sector to navigate deeper into the file hierarchy. Previous selections are displayed using headers for nested levels.

Global Search

The application indexes device and cloud storage files at startup. Users can perform quick searches by entering a query, and the application will display the search results on the Quick Search page. Long-clicking on a file provides options to open, delete, or share it. Similarly, long-clicking on a category or extension adds the contained files to the Quick Search page.

File Categories

All files in internal and external storage, SD cards, and USB devices are presented in a structured manner. They can be sorted by category (such as documents, videos, music, etc.), file size (large, medium, etc.), and file date (today and yesterday, earlier this week, last week, earlier this month, etc.).

Required Permissions

The application requires certain permissions to perform its functionalities:

• QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES - allows querying of any normal app on the device
• GET_PACKAGE_SIZE - allows finding out the space used by any package
• CLEAR_APP_CACHE - allows clearing the cache of all installed applications on the device
• REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES - allows requesting the deletion of packages
• PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS - allows collecting component usage statistics
• MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - allows broad access to external storage in scoped storage
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - allows writing to external storage
• GET_ACCOUNTS - allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service for obtaining available Google accounts
• INTERNET - allows opening network sockets
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - allows access to information about networks
